Permanent Secretary of Thai Foreign Ministry Visited ASEAN-China Centre

On 17 October 2012, a delegation headed by Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Thailand visited ASEAN-China Centre. ACC Secretary-General Mr. Ma Mingqiang held a meeting with Sihasak.

Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang first gave an detailed introduction of structure, personnel and development of ACC, especially the activities carried out to promote ASEAN-China practical cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, culture and tourism. Mr. Ma expressed thanks to Thai Government and Thai Embassy in Beijing for their great support to ACC work and highly appreciated the recent visit and the painting donation by Thai Foreign Minister to ACC. Encouraged by the wonderful "Thai Night" co-hosted with Thai Embassy in Beijing, Mr. Ma said that ACC would organize various kinds of program to promote the friendly relations between China and Thailand. 

Permanent Secretary Sihasak felt deeply impressed at so many activities held by ACC to promote ASEAN countries in China within such a short time. He said that as the coordinator between ASEAN and China, Thailand would like to strengthen cooperation with ACC to promote people-to-people contact and understanding between Thailand and China and to push forward connectivity and regional community construction.

The two sides also held discussion on the specific projects of future cooperation.
