ACC Held Salon to Promote Indonesia-China Agriculture Cooperation

On 30 October 2013, ASEAN-China Centre held ASEAN-China Business Salon: Indonesia-China Agriculture Cooperation. This salon was hosted by ACC and supported by Indonesian Embassy in Beijing and Government of Chaoyang District of Beijing. Officials from Ministry of Agriculture and 9 provinces of Indonesia and representatives from Chinese agricultural agencies and companies including Beijing Agriculture Development Fund, ASEAN-China Investment Fund, Beijing IWHR Corporation, Chinese Enterprise Cooperation Promotion Association and Beixin International Woods Company held discussion on bilateral cooperation and investment.

ACC Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang said that as the only inter-governmental organization between ASEAN and China, ACC is working hard to fulfill its mandate as a one-stop information and activities centre and pledges to promote cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education and tourism between ASEAN and China. ACC is willing to help Chinese enterprises enter the ASEAN market by providing reliable business information and finding credible partners, and create a diamond decade of ASEAN-China relations.

Mr. Prabowo, Assistant Minister of Agriculture of Indonesia, gave an introduction of the rich resources of planting and breeding in Indonesia and its huge market potentials. He welcomed Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Indonesia’s plantation industry and carry out cooperation in agricultural processing. Mr. Probowo highlighted coco, coffee and palm planting as well as beef cattle raising in 9 provinces of Indonesia. 

Representatives of various Indonesian provinces and Chinese companies held discussion on projects in such areas as agricultural product processing, biological medicine, business and trade service, etc..
