ACC Launched ASEAN-CHINA INFO 2013

With a view to providing the general public with a snapshot of information and statistics to deepen ASEAN-China relations as it is entering the 2nd decade of ASEAN-China strategic partnership, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), as a one-stop information and activity centre, produced ASEAN-CHINA INFO 2013 in August 2014, focusing on the 5 areas of ASEAN-China cooperation within ACC roles and mandates.

 

ASEAN-CHINA INFO 2013 is an information booklet which offers a general introduction as well as a wide range of substantive contents and statistics of what ASEAN and China have accomplished in priority areas of trade, investment and people-to-people connectivity to further promote their strategic partnership.

 

ASEAN-CHINA INFO 2013's contents contain 10 interesting items namely; (1) ASEAN-China at a Glance (2013), (2) ASEAN and Other Regional Economies (2013), (3) GDP, (4) ASEAN-China Trade in Goods, (5) ASEAN-China Trade in Services, (6) ASEAN-China Investment, (7) ASEAN-China Tourist Exchange, (8) ASEAN-China Student Exchange, (9) Major Trading Partners of ASEAN and China, and (10) Linking ASEAN and China through their frequent flights between China's major cities and the capitals of ASEAN countries, and technologies such as internet, cellular phones, telephones lines, microblog and wechat.

 

With the fast development of ASEAN-China relations, bilateral trade volume had rapidly increased up to 443.6 billion USD in 2013. China is the largest trade partner for ASEAN in four consecutive years, and ASEAN is the third largest trade partner of China in three consecutive years. ASEAN-China two-way investment had grown quickly, amounting to 110 billion USD by the end of 2013. China and ASEAN have enjoyed close social and cultural exchanges in recent years. China established Confucius Institutes in ASEAN countries. More and more students from ASEAN countries come to China to further their studies.
