ACC organizing a cultural tour for ASEAN Female diplomats and wives of diplomats

On 5 December, ACC organized a cultural tour to Prince Kung’s Mansion for 40 ASEAN female diplomats and wives of diplomats. Price Kung’s Mansion is the major national cultural heritage and the largest and best-preserved imperial residence in China. H.E. Mrs. Teo Magdalene, Ambassador of Brunei, Madame of Indonesian Ambassador, Madame of Malaysian Ambassador attended the tour.

 

Mr. Chen Xiaowen, Deputy Director of Prince Kung’s Mansion Administration Centre met with the group and gave an introduction of the Mansion. During the visit, the management of the Mansion also arranged cultural performances comprising of acrobatics, magics, face-changing to the group. The unique imperial culture and wonderful performances left deep impression to the group. The visitors highly commented this meaningful cultural tour. H.E. Mrs. Magdalene Teo, on behalf of the group, thanked ACC and Prince Kung’s Mansion Administration for offering this wonderful opportunity to experience the Chinese imperial and traditional culture and expressed the readiness to work with ACC in further promoting ASEAN-China cultural exchanges. The ASEAN diplomats said that, as one activity in the 2014 ASEAN-China Cultural Exchange Year, this event could help them better understand China’s culture and history.

 

Prince Kung’s Mansion is the largest and best-preserved Qing Dynasty princely mansion, illustrating the life style of Imperial elite in the old days. People say that the mansion can well present half of the Qing Dynasty history.
