Director Li Yuan Met with Deputy of the Working Group for Establishment of AIIB

On 22 January 2015, Mr. Li Yuan, Director of Trade and Investment Division (TID) of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Mr. Chen Huan, Deputy of the Working Group for Establishment of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

Director Li Yuan briefed on ACC’s efforts in promoting trade and investment between ASEAN and China. He said as the MoU on Establishing Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was signed in October last year, ASEAN Member States were full of expectation to the formal operation of the AIIB. In order to make good use of the Bank, they would like to know more about relevant policies of AIIB. TID would like to keep in close contact with the working group, to seek cooperation opportunities, in which both sides could help publicize AIIB’s policy to ASEAN Member States.   

Mr. Chen Huan said, in preparation for the AIIB, ASEAN countries had given their valuable support and assistance to China. The Working Group was quite positive to have cooperation with ACC. It would join relevant activities hosted by ACC and make its contribution.
