Guilin Delegation Meet with ASEAN Embassies

On 7 April 2015, as the supporting organization of the 2015 CAEXPO Tourism Exhibition, Mr. Liuxiaohu, tourism officer of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC),  accompanied Guilin delegation including the organizers of the CAEXPO Tourism Exhibition to meet with the Ambassadors and representatives from the ASEAN Embassies in Beijing namely, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines. The Guilin delegation comprised Ms. Chen Lihua, Vice Mayor of Guilin City, Mr. Lin Yejiang, Director-General of Guilin Tourism Development Committee, Ms. Zhou Ying, Chairman of Guilin Convention & Exhibition Bureau. The delegation was warmly received by H.E. Mr. Somdy Bounkhoum, Ambassador of Laos, Mr. Freddy Sirait, Minister Counsellor of Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Indonesia and Ms. Evangeline Ducrocq, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Philippines .

Ms. Chen Lihua briefed the Embassies on the basic information of CAEXPO Tourism Exhibition. She expressed that China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region attached great importance to the Exhibition, with the aim of promoting CAEXPO Tourism Exhibition into one of two most significant international tourism cooperation platforms together with China International Travel Mart. Over 300 high-quality global buyers and 100 media from home and abroad were expected to attend this event apart from the tourism board and enterprises from ASEAN Countries. In order to further promote the national tourism profile and expand the influence of tourism product, it was hoped that ASEAN countries could take advantage of this opportunity to showcase and exhibit their respective tourism products. 

The ASEAN representatives expressed their enthusiasm on the upcoming Exhibition and in particular the opportunities to seize the growing of Chinese market, which demonstrated a huge potential and bright prospects for tourism cooperation between ASEAN countries and China. ACC’s support for this exhibition was also highly appreciated by the ASEAN Embassies.
