ACC Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping Met With Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam, Lao PDR and Malaysia

In the past few days, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, met with the Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam, Lao PDR and Malaysia to China respectively.

 

ACC Secretary-General Yang and Brunei Ambassador H.E. Ms. Magdalene Teo exchanged views during the visit to Guilin, Guangxi Province where the 1st Tourism Exhibition of China-ASEAN Expo was held on 29-30 May 2015. Secretary-General Yang extended her congratulations to Brunei Ambassador as Brunei was the Guest of Honor of the Exhibition, and hoped that the Embassy could continue to support the future work of ACC. The Ambassador also congratulated Secretary-General Yang for her assumption of the new Secretary-General of ACC, and reaffirmed the Embassy's continued close cooperation and its joint efforts to promote further development of practical cooperation between ASEAN and China as well as between Brunei and China.

 

On 4 June 2015, Secretary-General Yang paid a courtesy call to Lao Ambassador H.E. Mr. Somdy Bounkhoum. The Ambassador extended his congratulations to Secretary-General Yang for taking up the post as the new Secretary-General of ACC, highly appreciated ACC’s work from its establishment in promoting ASEAN-China cooperation, and believed that ACC would make more achievements under Secretary-General Yang’s leadership. On 9 June 2015, Malaysia Ambassador H.E. Mr. Dato’ Zainuddin Yahya met with Secretary-General Yang at the Embassy of Malaysia. The Ambassador considered Secretary-General Yang as a highly experienced diplomat who had very extensive knowledge about ASEAN-China relations. The Ambassador believed that ACC, led by Secretary-General Yang, would be able to make more achievements and enhance ASEAN-China practical cooperation.

 

Secretary-General Yang expressed her sincere gratitude to the Ambassadors of Lao PDR and Malaysia respectively during the two separate meetings for their great support to the work of ACC. She highlighted that ACC, considering the ASEAN-China relations has progressed smoothly and entering a Diamond Decade, would continue to actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of ASEAN and China, to explore and find innovative means, and redouble its efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation between ASEAN and China.
