PHNOM PENH, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian conglomerate Genting Group executive chairman Lim Kok Thay is eyeing investment opportunities in Cambodia's tourism, agriculture and energy, a Cambodian senior official said Monday.

Speaking during a meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh, Lim said his conglomerate was involved in hotels and casinos, power generation, oil palm plantations, property development, and oil and gas business activities, according to Eang Sophalleth, an aide to the prime minister.

"Lim told the prime minister that Genting Group was exploring opportunities to invest in an integrated resort, agriculture and energy in Cambodia," he told reporters after the talks.

Meanwhile, Hun Sen recommended Lim to invest in an integrated resort in Dara Sakor coastal area in far southwestern Cambodia's Koh Kong province, saying the area had high potential for tourism in the future.

He also suggested that the Malaysian magnate consider investing in processing factories for Cambodian agricultural products, particularly rice and rubber.

Malaysia is the fourth largest investor in Cambodia with the investment capital of 2.6 billion U.S. dollars in the last two decades.
