ACC Secretary-General Had Interaction With Staff of China's Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City

On 1 July 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Mr. Zhou Tong, Acting Consul-General and the staff of the Consulate-General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, and exchanged views on the communication and cooperation between China and ASEAN, Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

 

With an introduction of the mandate and work of ACC, Secretary-General Yang Xiuping noted that ACC was devoted to implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of ASEAN countries and China. As a one-stop information and activities centre, ACC had been actively promoting functional cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and other areas, and make every effort to facilitate exchanges and cooperation among local provinces and cities as well as to promote friendly contact among peoples. ACC was willing to keep in touch with China's Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City to make joint efforts to further promote the overall and in-depth development of Viet Nam-China and ASEAN-China relations.

 

Acting Consul-General Zhou Tong spoke highly of the work done by ACC and introduced the social and economic development of Ho Chi Minh City and the work of the Consulate-General. He said as an important city in Viet Nam, Ho Chi Minh City maintained close contact with relevant provinces and cities of China and expected to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China. It was expected that ACC could continuously exert its advantages to support the efforts made by Ho Chi Minh City and the Consulate-General, and inject new impetus to the intensified development of the bilateral relations.

 

In addition, Secretary-General Yang Xiuping had interaction with the staff of the Consulate-General on the history of ASEAN-China relations, ASEAN-China practical cooperation and the role of provinces and cities in ASEAN-China cooperation.
