On 5 August 2016, the Celebration of East Asian Cooperation Series Conferences of Ministers of Economy and Trade was held in Vientiane. H.E. Khemmani Pholsena, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Lao PDR, moderated this activity. Minister-level officials of economy and trade of relevant countries, ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh, directors of related international organizations, and business representatives attended the event. H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended the activity.
Secretary-General Yang Xiuping interacted with the attendants, and briefed on the function and work achievements of ACC in promoting cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture and tourism. She said ACC would continue to implement the consensus reached by leaders of both sides, exploit new ideas and innovate ways and means of daily work. ACC would play a bridging role between ASEAN-China enterprises in a more pragmatic way in promoting the level of cooperation of trade and economy between both sides. ACC would also continue to promote cooperation with ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) and ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) according to the consensus reached in the ASEAN Plus Three Summit so as to contributing to East Asian integration.
H.E. Mrs. Khemmani Pholsena, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Lao PDR, Mr. Oudet Souvannavong, Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, commended the outstanding work of ACC in promoting cooperation between ASEAN and China. They expected ACC to make persistent efforts to contribute to ASEAN-China relations.
