ACC Secretary-General Visited ASEAN-China E-commerce Trading Centre

On 30 September 2016, ACC Secretary-General Yang Xiuping visited ASEAN-China E-commerce Trading Centre (AC-ETC) and met with officials from Shanghai Baoshan District. Ms. Zhang Yanping, official from Commerce Committee of Shanghai Municipality, Mr. Ye Qiang, Director of Baoshan Commerce Committee, Ms. Li Xiaonian, Vice Chairman of Political Consultative Committee of Baoshan, Mr. Gu Jun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Luojing Town, and Mr. Zhang Haijun, Vice President of AC-ETC attended the meeting.

 

Secretary-General Yang overviewed the development of ASEAN-China relations and the mandate of ACC. She said that in trade and investment field, ACC was committed to the goal of achieving USD 1 trillion of bilateral trade volume and USD 150 million of new accumulated bilateral investment by 2020 set by the leaders from both sides. ACC focused on publicizing relevant economic and trade policies, promoting trade facilitation, and building platforms for enterprises from ASEAN countries and China to enhance exchanges and cooperation. The Centre paid close attention to and fully supported the development of AC-ETC, and would like to build bridges for economic cooperation between local provinces and cities of China and ASEAN. She hoped that AC-ETC could find new development model and support the enterprises from both sides, so as to contribute to ASEAN-China economic cooperation and trade.

 

Director Ye Qiang, Vice Chairman Li Xiaonian and Party Secretary Gu Jun outlined the economic development of Baoshan District and Luojing Town, and stressed that local government would provide strong support and convenience for the development of AC-ETC. Zhou Liang, CEO of AC-ETC made a presentation about the operation and development plan of the e-commerce trading platform. He said that AC-ETC wished to enhance communication with ACC and continue to seek support and guidance from the Centre in order to improve its services.
