On 17 September 2017, the welcome ceremony of ASEAN-China Tourism Festival, co-organized by ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and Leshan Municipal People’s Government, was held in Leshan. Mme. Guo Jie, Vice Mayor of Leshan Municipal People's Government, delivered welcome speech on behalf of the host. H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ACC, H.E. Mr. Masataka Fujita, Secretary-General of ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC), Mr. Ivan Frank M. Olea, Minister of the Philippines Embassy in China, officials of ASEAN Embassies in China including Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar and Viet Nam, and delegates from global tourism industry attending the 4th Sichuan International Travel Expo (SCITE) attended the event.
Mme. Guo Jie warmly welcomed all guests to the festival, and thanked ACC for its continued support for the development of Leshan tourism. She said that the first ASEAN-China Tourism Festival held in Leshan is of great significance to expand exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries in Leshan. She briefed on the features and development of Leshan tourism industry and hoped more achievements would be made in promoting Leshan’s foreign tourism cooperation through SCITE and ASEAN-China Tourism Festival.
During the welcome ceremony, Secretary-General Yang Xiuping exchanged views with guests. ASEAN-China Tourism Festival was held from 18 to 24 September 2017.
