ACC Secretary-General Met with Secretary-General of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat

On 6 February 2018, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with the delegation of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) led by H.E. Mr. Lee Jong-heon, Secretary-General of TCS. Mr. Yamamoto Yasushi and Ms. Han Mei, Deputy Secretaries-General of TCS, Ms. Qiao Wen, Director of Department of Socio-Cultural Affairs as well as Ms. Huang Ying, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC and Ms. Kong Roatlomang, Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC were present.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping briefed on ACC’s main work. She said that ACC is actively implementing the important consensus reached by the leaders of both ASEAN and China. Since its inception in 2011, ACC has carried out more than 120 flagship projects and organized or participated in over 600 activities, making great efforts to promote practical cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and information and media. 2018 marks the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership and the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation. ACC is implementing 21 flagship projects approved by the Joint Council. ACC has maintained good relations with TCS. ACC would like to continue to strengthen the communication with TCS and jointly make new efforts to promote the development in this region.

Secretary-General Lee Jong-heon spoke highly of the efforts made by ACC to promote ASEAN-China practical cooperation and the fruitful results it achieved. He said that TCS has been committed to playing its bridging role to tap the cooperation potential between China, Japan and Korea, and pushing forward the trilateral cooperation to achieve more results through facilitating the all-round cooperation on various levels. TCS expects to strengthen communication with relevant international organizations including ACC to further enhance mutual learning, and explore ways to jointly conduct cooperation projects under the framework of 10+3 so as to bring more benefits to the people of this region.

The delegation also visited the photo exhibition of ACC.
