On 28 July 2018, H.E. Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Dr. Gatot Hari Priowirjanto, Director of the Secretariat of Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in Guiyang and exchanged views on promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in relevant fields. Ms. Zhou Hui, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC, attended the meeting.
Dr. Gatot congratulated Secretary-General Chen Dehai on assumption of office, and praised ACC for the efforts in promoting ASEAN-China practical exchanges and cooperation. He hoped to enhance cooperation with ACC, tapping potentials of cooperation, widening cooperation areas and creating new highlights of cooperation to make new contributions to ASEAN-China education exchanges and cooperation.
Secretary-General Chen Dehai thanked SEAMEO and Dr. Gatot himself for the strong support to ACC’s work. He said that SEAMEO is one of ACC’s important partners in education. Since the establishment of partnership in 2012, both sides have been cooperating closely to jointly build beneficial platforms of exchanges for institutions of ASEAN countries and China with fruitful achievements. ACC will continue to work closely with the SEAMEO in terms of higher education, vocational education, teacher and student exchanges, teacher training and joint research, joining hands to promote in-depth development of ASEAN-China people-to-people exchanges and cooperation.
