The year 2018 marks not only the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China strategic partnership, but also ASEAN-China Year of Innovation. In order to promote the exchanges and cooperation between ASEAN and China in the field of innovation, on August 15 2018, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) led officials of the Embassies of ASEAN Member States to visit the 2018 World Robot Conference (WRC) held at Beijing Etrong International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and Investment Division, MS. Ding Yue, Deputy Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division, and other ACC officials joined the visit. The ACC group focused on the exhibition area of HIT Robot Group (HRG) and exchanged views with HRG managers.
Jointly held by the Beijing Municipal Government, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT), and China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the 2018 WRC includes forums, exhibitions, contests and unmanned ground systems.
With a total exhibition area of 50,000 square metres, the 2018 WRC consists of several exhibition areas for industrial robots, core components, service robots, artificial intelligence and special robots. More than 160 high-tech enterprises at home and abroad including SIASUN, HRG, ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa Shougang, GSK, SMC, Softbank, Kollmorgen and WASU participated in this year’s exhibition. Cutting-edge scientific research achievements and application products, such as China's independently developed robotic dog Laikago, the FESTO bionic flying bat displayed only at Hannover Messe in Germany, the FANUC Robot M-2000iA with maximum transportable weight of 1350kg, and the humanoid robot with emotional cognition ability-Pepper, were exhibited at the 2018 WRC.
As a pioneer of China's robotic enterprises, the HRG demonstrated more than 50 representative industrial products, solutions and application cases in the field of robotics and intelligent manufacturing at the 2018 WRC, covering intelligent factories, industrial robots, special robots, service robots and other sub-divisions. The Group has fully demonstrated its strong strength in the multi field and whole industry chain of the robotics industry. For example, the T5 collaborative robot developed independently by HRG has won the Red Dot Award in 2018 for its perfect design of industrial texture and technology. Other HRG products like the Super-Mix, China’s first intelligent cocktail robot, and the Autonomous Mobile Robot Bee Robot were regarded as appeals on the exhibition and attracted a large number of visitors.
Commerce Counsellors and officials of the embassies of ASEAN Member States including Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos and Cambodia carefully observed the demonstrations of HRG products such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Firefighting Robots, Medium Reconnaissance EOD Robots, Web-carving Robots, 3D Cervical Vertebra Rehabilitation Robotics and Light Load Indoor Lidar Navigation AGV, and communicated and exchanged views with the HRG staffs at the booth. Officials of the embassies of ASEAN Member States and ACC staff also visited other exhibition areas of the 2018 WRC.
