On 7 September 2018, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Mr. Zhang Tong, Mayor of Leshan City, during the 5th Sichuan International Travel Expo in Leshan City, Sichuan Province.
On behalf of Leshan Municipal Government, Mayor Zhang Tong thanked Secretary-General Chen Dehai for his attendance and support for the Travel Expo. He said that Leshan gives high priority to ASEAN in its opening-up policy, and is developing closer relations of cooperation in tourism with the latter. In fact, ASEAN countries have sent representatives to attend the Travel Expo for five consecutive years. Leshan is dedicated to developing itself into a world-class tourist destination, and hopes its cooperation with ACC will bring more opportunities for friendly exchanges between Leshan and ASEAN countries.
Secretary-General Chen Dehai appreciated Leshan Municipal Government's support to ACC and briefed on the main work of ACC and ASEAN-China relations. He said that tourism is one of the five work priorities of ACC. In 2018, which celebrates the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China strategic partnership and ASEAN-China Year of Innovation, ACC has carried out a series of cooperation activities in tourism, tapping the potentials of ASEAN-China tourism cooperation, and widely promoting tourism resources of the ASEAN countries. ACC stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Leshan City to promote practical cooperation between Leshan and ASEAN countries in various fields.
