ACC Secretary-General Attended the Awarding Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Commemoration of the 15th CABIS

On the evening of 12 September 2018, the “Awarding Ceremony and Gala Dinner in Commemoration of the 15th CABIS: Looking Back and Forward” was held in Nanning. Ms. Yang Jinghua, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Mr. Chen Zhou, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee of CABIS and CCPIT, attended the ceremony and delivered welcome remarks. ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai was invited to attend the ceremony together with government officials, business leaders, experts and scholars from ASEAN and China. In total, there were about 250 participants.

Mr. Chen Zhou gave an overview of the achievements of the CABIS over the past 15 years and thanked all parties for their care and support. He said that the CABIS would improve and innovate in every aspect including content, form, mechanism and results to meet the regional development goals and the demands of all relevant parties, and create more opportunities and favorable environment for business investment and cooperation. Yang Jinghua reviewed the cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN in the past 15 years and the achievements in Guangxi's opening up to the outside world. She said that Guangxi would continue to serve the business circles of China and ASEAN in depth, promote opening up and cooperation in a wider range of fields, and jointly uplift economic and trade cooperation to a new height.

Representatives of national chambers of commerce and industry of the Philippines, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar and Viet Nam, as well as representatives of the Chinese business circles and research institutes, received “outstanding contributors award”. After the award ceremony, Mr. Li Changguan, Chairman of CCPIT Guangxi Committee, announced the establishment of the Advisory Committee for CABIS. The committee aims to strengthen the role of CABIS as the speaker for the commerce and industry communities in the region and better serve the upgraded version of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
