On 20 September 2018, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), called on Mr. Anand Panyamchun, former Prime Minister of Thailand. Ms. Natcharee Phuwamongkolwiwat, Senior Vice President of Siam Commercial Bank PCL. of Thailand, Ms. Guo Bin, Director of Press and Public Diplomacy Division of the Embassy of China to Thailand and Mrs. Ding Yue, Deputy Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC were in company.
Mr. Anand welcomed Secretary-General Chen Dehai and shared the good memories of his participating in the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between Thailand and China more than 40 years ago, and the friendship between him and former Chinese leaders. He highly praised the great success of China's reform and opening-up policy. As China's international influence is increasing day by day, he was glad to see that Thailand and China have closer cooperation in the areas of economy and trade, culture, education and tourism, which consolidates bilateral relations.
Secretary-General Chen Dehai said that Mr. Anand's extraordinary contributions to the establishment and development of Thailand-China bilateral friendly relations were admirable. He briefed Mr. Anand on the development of ASEAN-China relations and ACC's work, and exchanged views with the latter on how to further promote regional cooperation.
