On 26 September 2018, the 2018 Freshmen Welcoming Ceremony of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts of Chengdu University was held in Chengdu University. Almost 800 participants attended the ceremony， including Mr. Mao Zhixiong, Deputy Chief of Leading Group Office for the Cultural System Reform and Cultural Industry of Chengdu, Mr. Wang Qingyuan, President of Chengdu University, Mr. Yu Junjian, Principal of the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts and famous artist of vocal music, officials of consulates general of ASEAN Member States in Chengdu as well as Chinese and ASEAN students. Ms. Zhou Hui, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) addressed the event.
Following the ceremony, the participating guests and international students watched a wonderful gala named Chinese Drama on Campus, experiencing the unique charm of Chinese traditional drama culture.
By far, the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts has enrolled 200 international students, including 131 undergraduates and 69 postgraduates, among whom 153 are from ASEAN countries, covering Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
