On 26 September 2018, Mr. Wu Qiang, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province, met with Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Mr. Chen Yan, Mayor of Guiyang Municipal People's Government, Mr. Liu Benli, Secretary-General of Guiyang Municipal People's Government, Ms. Zhang Xueli, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of Guiyang Municipal People's Government, Mr. Yuan Yunlong, Director of Tourism Development Committee of Guiyang Municipal People's Government, Ms. Liu Lisha, Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Guiyang Municipal People's Government, and Ms. Kong Roatlomang, Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC attended the event.
Mr. Wu Qiang welcomed Secretary-General Chen Dehai and his delegation to attend the 2018 ASEAN "the Belt and Road" Tourism Culture Exchange Week, and thanked ACC for its strong support for the development of friendly cooperation between Guizhou Province and ASEAN countries. He said that Guizhou Province is blessed with good ecological environment, abundant resources and convenient location. Guiyang is an important gateway connecting the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. In recent years, Guizhou Province has achieved high-quality economic and social development through "Three Major Strategies", namely, Poverty Alleviation, Big Data and Ecological Progress. Guizhou is working together with ASEAN countries to build "the Belt and Road" not only to execute national development strategy, but also to foster all-dimensional opening-up landscape. Guizhou Province hopes to strengthen ties with ACC, set up more exchange platforms, and promote friendly cooperation between Guizhou and ASEAN countries.
Secretary-General Chen Dehai thanked Guizhou Province for its years' of strong support for ACC's work and briefed on ASEAN-China relations and the main work of ACC. He said that the year 2018 marks the 15th anniversary ASEAN-China strategic partnership. The Tourism Cultural Exchange Week co-organized by ACC, Guiyang Municipal People's Government and Tourism Development Committee of Guizhou Province serves as an important platform for Guizhou Province to carry out tourism cooperation with ASEAN. It will effectively promote people-to-people exchanges between the two sides and promote practical cooperation in various fields. ACC will continue to act as bridge and link to make positive contributions to the expansion and deepening of exchanges and cooperation between Guizhou Province and ASEAN countries.
