ACC Secretary-General Exchanged Views with Ambassadors or Charge d’Affaires of ASEAN Member States to China

Recently, H.E. Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) paid courtesy calls on H.E. Mme. Khek Caimealy Sysoda, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia, H.E. Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Mme. Vandy Bouthasavong, Ambassador of Lao People’s Democratic Republic, H.E. Mr. Dato’ Zainuddin Yahya, Ambassador of Malaysia, H.E. Mr. Thit Linn Ohn, Ambassador of the Union of Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Jose Santiago L. Sta. Romana, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, H.E. Mr. Stanley Loh Ka Leung, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Piriya Khempon, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Dang Minh Khoi, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and Ms. Lee Kok Ting, Charge d’Affaires of Brunei Darussalam to the People’s Republic of China respectively and exchanged views on deepening ASEAN-China friendly cooperation.

Secretary-General Chen Dehai expressed his gratitude to the governments of ASEAN Member States for the trust and support endowed on him and thanked the Embassies of ASEAN Member States in China for the longtime support and cooperation rendered to ACC. He said both ASEAN and China are in a critical period of building on the past achievements and pursuing new progress. In the recent concluded ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, both sides reached consensus regarding ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership Vision 2030, which would chart the future course of ASEAN-China relations. ACC will continue to actively implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both sides, fully harness its role as a one-stop information and activities centre, take the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China strategic partnership and the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation as an opportunity, strive to advance the practical cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism as well as information and media and make greater contribution to advance the ASEAN-China relations.

Ambassadors or Charge d’Affaires of Embassies of ASEAN Member States in China congratulated Secretary-General Chen Dehai on taking the office and spoke highly of the important role of ACC to deepen the ASEAN-China practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. They commended that ACC, since its inception, had carried out a series of colourful activities and created plenty of cooperation platforms, which had become an important bridge to promote ASEAN-China friendly exchanges. Secretary-General Chen has long worked to promote ASEAN-China relations with rich working experience. They believed that under the able leadership of Secretary-General Chen, ACC would make new achievements and greater contribution to the ASEAN-China strategic partnership. Embassies of ASEAN Member States in China would continue to fully support ACC and Secretary-General Chen, and jointly pushed forward the ASEAN-China practical cooperation to produce more tangible outcomes that benefit both peoples.
