From 30 November to 2 December 2018, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Kunming Marathon 2018 and related activities upon invitation. Mr. Rashid Alimov, Secretary-General of SCO, leaders of General Administration of Sport of China, Yunnan Provincial People’s Government and Kunming Municipal People’s Government, national coordinators of SCO Member States and ambassadors or representatives of relevant countries in China attended the event.
SCO Kunming Marathon 2018 is the third marathon organized by SCO in Kunming. It is also the first marathon event named by an international organization. This event is jointly initiated by SCO Secretariat and Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, organized by Chinese Athletics Association, Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau, Yunnan Foreign Affairs Office and Kunming Municipal People’s Government. More than 20,000 runners around the world participated in the event.
During his stay in Kunming, Secretary-General Chen Dehai also participated in the 2018 SCO Youth Exchange Programme, group meeting with Party Secretary of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and the Appreciation Dinner hosted by SCO. He widely interacted with the distinguished participants, introduced ACC’s work and exchanged views on conducting future cooperation.
