The ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) is pleased to present its newly published statistics book, 2017 ASEAN & China in Figures.

ASEAN countries and China are good neighbours, good friends and good partners that enjoy geographical proximity and cultural affinity. Ever since the launch of ASEAN-China dialogue relations in 1991, especially since the establishment of strategic partnership in 2003, ASEAN-China cooperation has advanced in all dimensions, at all levels and in multiple areas. The two sides have deepened political trust and reaped rich fruits in practical cooperation across the board. The deepening development of ASEAN-China relations has brought tangible benefits to the people of both sides and contributed greatly to the development and prosperity of the region and beyond.

The year of 2017 marked the 50th anniversary of ASEAN and ASEAN-China Year of Tourism Cooperation, and the ASEAN-China relations embrace new opportunities and broad prospects. Both sides seized this opportunity to hold a series of colourful activities to deepen economic, trade, tourism, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation,

injecting fresh impetus to the all-round and in-depth development of ASEAN-China relations. The statistics book, 2017 ASEAN & China in Figures, is designed to harness the role of ACC as a one-stop information and activities centre, and provide information to the public on ASEAN-China cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, media and other fields. All data and information in the book is collected from the latest reliable sources including government agencies and international organizations. The e-book is also available on ACC website (http://www.asean-china-centre.org) and we-chat (asean-china centre) for free access.

It is sincerely hoped that friends from all sides would continue to pay attention and give support to ASEAN-China exchanges and cooperation in a joint effort to open up an even more splendid chapter in ASEAN-China relations.
