ACC Attended the CHEXPO ASEAN 2019

On 27 November 2019, the 2nd China Healthcare Products Expo (CHEXPO ASEAN 2019) was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was hosted by Ministry of Commerce of China (MOFCOM) and co-organized by Trade Development Bureau (TDB) of Ministry of Commerce of China, China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products (CCCMHPIE) and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Jiangsu Sub-Council. Around 200 participants attended the opening ceremony, including government officials of Indonesia and China, executives of business associations and enterprises as well as experts of medical and health care sectors from ASEAN countries and China, and representatives of international organization. Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and Investment Division (TID) of ASEAN-China Centre(ACC) participated in the opening ceremony upon invitation.
Mr. Wang Liping, Minister Counsellor of Embassy of China in Indonesia said that China and Indonesia have great potential for cooperation in the field of health care. China’s increasingly advanced products and technologies are popular in the Indonesian market, while Chinese enterprises are investing in Indonesia which promotes the investment cooperation between the two countries. He hoped that all parties would continue to work together to make greater contributions to the medical and health care industries in China and Indonesia.
 
Mr. Wu Zhengping, Director General of TDB of MOFCOM said that as a professionalplatform of medical and health care field inSoutheast Asia, the CHEXPO ASEAN 2019 would further help excellent Chinese enterprises to build good international images and provide good opportunities and channels for the businessmen ofIndonesian and other ASEAN countries to recognize Chinese brands and explore Chinese market.
Mr. Agum Gumelar, member of Presidential Advisory Council said that in recent years, the bilateral trade between Indonesia and China has kept rising while China’s medical technology is leading the world. He hoped that Chinese medical enterprises could help cultivate and develop their Indonesian peers while exploring the Indonesian market. He also hoped that the CHEXPO ASEAN 2019 would provide more opportunities for exchanges, cooperation and mutual benefits for the medical and health care circles of Indonesia and China.
Mr. Zhou Hui, President of CCCMHPIE said that China and Indonesia share a common vision in improving the health coverage of all the people of the two countries, which lays a solid foundation for all-round cooperation in this field. He hoped that theCHEXPO ASEAN 2019 would continue to assist the all-round cooperation between China and Indonesia as well as between China and ASEAN.
After the opening ceremony, the participants visited the exhibition area. The expo attracted more than 130 Chinese enterprises and a number of Indonesian enterprises promoting traditional health care products and medical equipments, and covered an exhibition area of over 5000 square meters.
During his stay in Indonesia, Director Guo Chuanwei had work exchanges with Ms. Fang Bing, Counsellor of the Mission of China to ASEAN and Mr. Huang Cheng, Director of ASEAN-China Cooperation Fund (ACCF) Management Team.
