ACC Representatives Attended the Opening Ceremony of the 13th 10+3 Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Human Resource Development

The 13th ASEAN Plus Three (10+3) Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Human Resource Development, hosted by Central Academy of Culture and Tourism Administration (CACTA) of China, and supported by ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), opened in Beijing on 5 December 2019. Ms. Kong Roatlomang, Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC, Mr. Wang Jianhua, Vice President of CACTA, Ms. Margaret Wong, Head of History Department of Yangon University and representative of the participants of the workshop, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Government officials and experts and scholars of culture from Brunei, Cambodia, Japan, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam and representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and ASEAN Secretariat attended the ceremony.

 

Director Kong Roatlomang stated in her address that consensus has been reached on strengthening human resource development cooperation, and promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges between 10+3 countries, in line with the ASEAN Plus Three Leaders’ Statement on Connecting the Connectivities Initiative approved by the leaders at the 10+3 Summit in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2019. ACC is ready to work together with all parties to support the cultural human resource development cooperation between ASEAN Member States, China, Japan and the ROK, with a view to enhance friendship and make greater contributions to lasting stability and prosperity in the region.

 

Since 2006, 12 sessions of the 10+3 Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Human Resource Development have been held, which has become an important platform for cooperation on cultural human resource development in East Asia. The 10-day-long workshop this year, with the theme of “Communication on Chinese Culture” will take place in Beijing and Xi’an, the Culture City of East Asia 2019.
