ACC Attended the 14th Meeting among Secretaries General of ASEAN-China Centre, ASEAN-Japan Centre and ASEAN-Korea Centre

  On 16 January 2020, the 14th Meeting among Secretaries General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) and ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) was held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Lee Hyuk, Secretary-General of AKC. Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ACC and Mr. Masataka Fujita, Secretary-General of AJC attended the meeting. Other participants included Ms. Wang Hongliu, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC, Mr. Kim Yo-sup, Head of Development Planning and General Affairs Unit of AKC, Ms. Kubota Yuka, AJC’s Senior Executive Officer, etc.

  Secretary-General Lee Hyuk highly commended the significant progress of exchanges and cooperation between the three centres, and said that AKC would endeavor to better promote trilateral cooperation as well as that with ASEAN by keeping close communication with ACC and AJC to tap potential, expand cooperation, and carry out more productive projects and activities.

  Secretary-General Chen Dehai said that in 2019 ACC carried out 23 flagship projects and more than 180 activities, which have been warmly received by ASEAN Member States and China. In 2020, to echo ASEAN-China Year of Digital Economy Cooperation, ACC will continue to promote ASEAN-China practical cooperation in key areas for closer business and people-to-people exchanges. He said that ACC was ready to enhance communication, experience-sharing and mutual learning with AJC and AKC to push forward regional development and prosperity.
 
  Secretary-General Masataka Fujita said that AJC attached significance to APT exchanges and cooperation, and hoped to see higher level of cooperation between the three centres. He proposed to set up a task force of cooperation to help the three centres jointly carry out more projects for deeper APT relations.
 
  At the meeting, the three centres reviewed their respective work of 2019 and briefed on their work programmes for 2020. They also discussed the arrangements for the upcoming 15th meeting.
