ACC Officials Visited iFLYTEK Headquarters in Beijing

On 26 August 2020, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) led all officials of ACC to visit iFLYTEK Headquarters, which is located at the Internet Innovation Center of Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park.
In the AI showroom, ACC officials, following the detailed explanations by iFLYTEK staff, learnt about the company's development history and the latest achievements in the fields of speech recognition and synthesis, smart home, smart city, AI plus health-care and AI plus education. They also experienced the application of leading products and technologies in business, health-care, education and culture and entertainment, such as the Jarvisen Translator, the iFLYREC Intelligence Conference System, the Global Chinese learning platform and the MAXVAIR AI Smart Screen.
Afterwards ACC officials held a discussion with representatives of iFLYTEK. Mr. Dong Fei, Vice President of iFLYTEK International Cooperation Department, briefed on the company's R & D concept and core technologies. Mr. Duan Dawei, Senior Vice President and CEO of iFLYTEK, elaborated on the features and advantages of AI development in China, the important role of iFLYTEK products and technologies played in the prevention and control of COVID-19, as well as the models and achievements of the company in international cooperation. Mr. Duan Dawei expressed the hope to expand cooperation with ASEAN countries in terms of technical support, AI plus education and the translation of minority languages.
 
ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai opined that in 2020, the COVID-19 epidemic plunged the global economy into deep recession. ASEAN and China have demonstrated the neighbourly friendship of helping each other and sharing weal and woe through concrete actions. The overall growth of bilateral trade and investment has become a highlight in the global economy under the effects of the epidemic. In 2020, which has been designated as the ASEAN-China Year of Digital Economy Cooperation, the two sides will foster more growth areas of cooperation in smart city, AI, big data and other fields. As a leading enterprise in China's AI industry, iFLYTEK has favorable conditions to develop the ASEAN market under the current situation. ACC is willing to provide assistance within its capability for China's high-tech enterprises, including iFLYTEK, in developing ASEAN business.
Directors of General Affairs and Coordination Division, Trade and Investment Division, Education, Culture and Tourism Division, Information and Public Relations Division of ACC also exchanged views with the company on the key fields of AI and the challenges to high-tech companies due to the current domestic and international situations.
