ACC Representatives Attended the China-ASEAN Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation Forum

On 27 November 2020, co-hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission of China (NDRC) and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the China-ASEAN Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation Forum was held in Nanning. Mr. Qin Rupei, Executive Vice-chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,Mr. Ning Jizhe, Vice Chairman of NDRC and Commissioner of the National Bureau of Statistics of China, Madame Khek M. Caimealy, Cambodian Ambassador to China, Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesian Ambassador to China, Mr. Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Malaysian Ambassador to China and Mr. Pehin Dato Rahmani, Bruneian Ambassador to China attended the forum. Officials of AMS diplomatic missions in China, including Lao PDR, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam, representatives of AMS investment promotion agencies in China, as well as representatives of Chinese authorities, local governments, industrial parks, enterprises and financial institutions attended the forum. Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and investment Division of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the forum upon invitation.
 
Executive Vice-chairman Qin Rupei said in his remarks that in recent years, Guangxi has been actively promoting and participating in international capacity cooperation. The field of investment cooperation between Guangxi and ASEAN has been constantly expanding. Guangxi looks forward to working together with the AMS to overcome the difficulties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, and score new achievements for all parties in production capacity, investment cooperation, industry matching and common platform building.
Vice Chairman Ning Jizhe pointed out that intensive efforts should be made to strengthen international capacity and investment cooperation between China and AMS and ensure the security and resilience of industrial and supply chains, which will help regional countries better adapt to the complex landscape of world economy and promote economic recovery and growth in the region and beyond.
AMS ambassadors and embassy representatives expressed the hope to further deepen digital-economy-led production capacity cooperation with China , work together to cope with the challenges of the pandemic, and accelerate the process of regional economic and social recovery.
Focusing on key areas of cooperation such as investment, industry chain, supply chain, digital economy, epidemic prevention and medical treatment, representatives of influential domestic and foreign enterprises includingChina Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, Charoen Pokphand Group, Susun Group, Shunfeng International, Liugong Machinery delivered keynote speeches and shared experience at the forum.
The forum is one of the important events of the 17th China-ASEAN Expo. With the theme of “Deepen Production Capacity Cooperation, Address Common Challenges”, the forum aimed to find better solutions for the challenge of the COVID-19, further deepen ASEAN-China production capacity cooperation, and promote regional economic recovery within the framework of BRI international cooperation.
