ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai Sent Greetings to the“International Chinese Language Day”

On 20 April 2021, the day of “Grain Rain”one of the 24 solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) sent a video message upon invitation to the event of the “International Chinese Language Day” held by the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of China. 

Secretary-General Chen Dehai stated that the year 2020 is an important milestone for the development of ASEAN-China relations. The two sides have achieved a historic breakthrough by becoming each other’s largest trading partner.The successful signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) will open up broader prospects for the development of China and ASEAN Member States (AMS) and inject new vitality into educational exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.  ACC has made unremitting efforts for many years to promote international Chinese language education and enhance people-to-people exchanges through flagship programmes such as Chinese language training, TVET cooperation and bilateral youth exchanges. In the new era and under the new situation, international Chinese language education is constantly making new contributions to promoting exchanges and mutual learning among diverse civilizations in the world. The Chinese language is bound to create unlimited opportunities.

Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), ambassadors of relevant countries to China,  Chinese and foreign experts and scholars in the fields of language and culture, expressed their greetings to the eventthrough videos.
