ASEAN Culture and Tourism Exhibition Launched in Beijing

On 4 June 2021, theASEAN-China Culture and Tourism Exhibition,co-organized by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and the Chinese Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation, was launched at the China Ethnic Museum in Beijing. The representatives from Chinese culture and tourism organizations, embassies of the ASEAN Member States (AMS) in China, civil societies, enterprises, media and higher-educationalinstitutions attended the opening ceremony and the Seminar on Culture and Tourism held afterwards. 

When addressing the opening ceremony, Ms. Li Yaying, Deputy Director of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC,said the year 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and theASEAN-China Year of Sustainable Development Cooperation. The two sides have made remarkable achievementsin bilateral relations and cooperation. ACC hopes to make this Culture and Tourism Exhibition a valuable platform for promoting culture and tourism resources of ASEAN and China, sharing experience in business revitalization and development and deepening friendship and cooperation between ASEAN and China.  

Mr. PhoxayTepvilayvong, Counsellor of Education and Culture from the Embassy of Lao PDR in China, reaffirmed in his speech the importance of people-to-people exchanges for ASEAN-China relationship. He saidrecently, dozens of ASEAN-China events had been jointly held, covering economy, education, culture, tourism and other fields of cooperation. Against this backdrop, the exhibition is essential to promotingculture and tourism exchanges between ASEAN-China and vitalizing their socio-economic development. 

The ASEAN-China Culture and Tourism Exhibition fully showcased the typical cultural and tourism resources and colorful ethnic features of ASEAN and China via nearly 200 pieces of attractive pictures. Under the theme of “Explore Splendor of ASEAN and Carry forward Traditional Friendship”, the exhibition will last 18 days from 4 to 21 June, 2021.
