ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai Met with Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office of Xinjiang and Officials of AMS Embassies in China

On 10 June 2022, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the ASEAN China Centre (ACC) met with Mr. Yao Jing, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Government of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and Officials of ASEAN Member States (AMS) Embassies in China. During the meeting, they exchanged views on further enhancing cooperation between AMS and Xinjiang in economy, trade and other related areas.

Director-General Yao Jing introduced the latest social and economic achievements in Xinjiang. He said that AMS are the key partners for “Belt and Road” Initiative and RCEP implementation. Xinjiang would like to enhance the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation with AMS. He welcomed support and participation of AMS in the series of activities held in Xinjiang including the China-Eurasia Expo. Secretary-General Chen Dehai mentioned that ACC would like to play the role of bridge for closer communication and cooperation between AMS and Xinjiang . Officials of AMS Embassies expressed that they wish to visit and get to know more about Xinjiang, and would encourage AMS to establish stronger economic and trade ties with Xinjiang.

Ms. Zhu Hexiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang International Expo Bureau, as well as Ms. Wang Hongliu, Director of the General Affairs and Coordination Division (GACD), Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of the Trade and Investment Division (TID), and Mr. Arianto Surojo, Director of the Information and Public Relations Division (IPRD) of ACC joined the meeting.
