ACC Representative Attended Southeast Asia Session of 2022 Chinese Automakers “Going Global” Forum

On 9 September 2022, Southeast Asia Session of 2022 Chinese Automakers “Going Global” Forum was held in Xiamen. Mr. Lin Ruochen, Director of the Department of Machinery & Equipment Manufacturing Industry of the Investment Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Commerce (IPA of MOFCOM), and Mr. Xiong Meng, Executive Vice President of China Federation of Industrial Economics, delivered opening speeches. Invited by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), Ms. Virdiana Ririen Hapsari, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Indonesia in China, attended the Forum and gave a speech on the theme of “Overview of Indonesia’s Potentials in Automotive Industry and Readiness for Future Development”. Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of the Trade and Investment Division of ACC, attended the Forum.

In her speech, Ms. Ririen reviewed the achievements of bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Indonesia and China in recent years, introduced key investment projects and the current development of Indonesia's automotive industry, and outlined her vision for the future of electric vehicle industry.

This forum is a side event of China International Fair for Investment and Trade. It is hosted by the IPA of MOFCOM, and ACC is one of its supporters. At the forum, experts, enterprise executives, and representatives from consulting agencies, industrial parks and financial institutions in the automobile industry talked about the latest trend and popular investment cooperation projects in Southeast Asian automobile market, shared their overseas investment experience of enterprises “going global”, and discussed prospects for future cooperation.
