Young Officials of Cambodian and Myanmar Visited ASEAN-China Centre

On 26 October 2012, Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang of ASEAN-China Centre met with the 60 members of the training class for Cambodian and Myanmar young officials. The representatives from All-China Youth Federation and Guangxi International Youth Communication Institute attended the meeting.

Secretary-General Ma gave a detailed introduction on the establishment and the obligations of ACC, especially the work completed to push forward the cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture and tourism between China and ASEAN countries including Cambodia and Myanmar, and answered the questions of young officials. The head of Cambodian delegation, on behalf of Cambodian Government, thanked ACC's efforts to give promotion of Cambodia and to enhance the practical cooperation between Cambodia and China. He said that he would give publicity to ACC and support ACC's work when going home. After the meeting, the journalists of China Radio International and China Daily interviewed the representatives of training class.

The Training Class for Cambodia, Myanmar Young Officials is a programme organized by All-China Youth Federation and Guangxi International Youth Communication Institute, aiming to promote the mutual understanding and friendship between ASEAN and Chinese young officials. Since March 2002, more than 1200 young officials from 10 ASEAN Member States have attended this training programme. The officials of the above-mentioned training class are mainly from the foreign affairs, commerce, culture and education affairs agencies of Cambodia and Myanmar.
