Official from Cambodian Tourism Ministry Visited China to Study Experiences of Protection and Tourism Development of World Heritage Sites in China

From 27 to 29 November 2012, arranged by the ASEAN-China Centre, Mr. Sok Sangvar, Deputy Director of Industry Department, Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia went to Beijing and Xi`an to study the protection, tourism development and management of World Heritage Sites in China. During his visit, management teams from the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, the Temple of Heaven and the Terra-Cotta Warriors & Horses precisely presented their methods in terms of the protection of World Heritage Sites and history, management of sightseeing spots and visitors behavior, the questions of Mr. Sok`s concern.     

On November 27, Secretary-General Ma Mingqiang met with Mr. Sok in Beijing. Mr. Ma pointed out that China gained extensive experience in terms of tourism development of the World Heritages Sites, which we hope could be examples for Cambodia to protect and operate its own World Heritages Sites represented by Angkor. The two parties also further exchanged views on tourism cooperation.
