ACC attended the 5th ACFTA Joint Committee Meeting

As an important step of upgrading the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA), the 5th ACFTA Joint Committee Meeting was convened in Chengdu from 11 to 13 March 2014. ACC was invited to the 14th Working Group Meeting on Economic Cooperation (WGEC) for ACFTA. 

Representatives of ACC briefed the Meeting on its activities and efforts in promoting trade and investment between ASEAN and China in 2013, particularly the activities to enchance public awareness of ACFTA in China, and pledged further activities to serve as a promoter and facilitator of economic and trade cooperation between ASEAN Member States and China.

The Meeting expressed its appreciation to ACC’s efforts and encouraged ACC to conduct more ACFTA awareness activities, especially for the SMEs in both ASEAN and China. Furthermore, the meeting encouraged all Parties to support ACC’s activities related to the promotion of trade and investment.
