ACC Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping Met with the Ambassadors of Indonesia, the Philippines and Viet Nam

ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping met with the Ambassadors of Indonesia, the Philippines and Viet Nam to China on 18 June and 1 July 2015 respectively, and exchanged views extensively on deepening ASEAN-China functional cooperation under the new situation of ASEAN-China relations and further promoting the constructive role of ACC.  

The Ambassadors congratulated Secretary-General Yang for her assumption of the new post, and expressed their confidence that ACC would continue to achieve tangible results under her leadership. 

H.E. Mr. Soegeng Rahardjo, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, said that the Embassy of Indonesia in China would continue to collaborate with ACC to promote ASEAN-China people-to-people exchange, especially communication and exchange among the youth, so as to lay a solid foundation for friendship and mutual trust.  

H.E. Mme. Erlinda F. Basilio, Ambassador of the Philippines to China, commended ACC’s work in the areas of education, information and public relations, and believed that ACC would double its efforts to encourage Chinese media to cover ASEAN, especially the building of ASEAN Community.

H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Ambassador of Viet Nam to China, praised the important role of ACC in pushing forward ASEAN-China functional cooperation, and expressed his confidence that ACC would play an even more important role in boosting ASEAN-China cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, education, culture and tourism, etc..

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping expressed her gratitude to the Ambassadors of Indonesia, the Philippines and Viet Nam respectively for their continuous support to the work of ACC. She highlighted that, under the new situation of ASEAN-China relations, ACC would closely join hands with ASEAN Embassies in China and contribute to the deepening of ASEAN-China functional cooperation with a pioneering spirit.
