ACC Led ASEAN Enterprises Attending Lanzhou Fair

On 6-11 July 2015, the 21st China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair (Lanzhou Fair) was successfully launched in Lanzhou, Gansu Province.  ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) was invited to attend the Fair and set up a booth to showcase ACC’s work as well as promote ASEAN-China relations. Eight ASEAN enterprises from ASEAN Member States namely Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Viet Nam, were invited by ACC to attend and set up their booths, exhibiting their potential  products in the Fair. 

This session of Lanzhou Fair adhered to the purpose of "Opening-up, Exploitation, Cooperation and Development", themed on "Developing One Road  One Belt, and Promoting Win-Win Cooperation", and to implement the "Road and Belt" initiative and create a new and dynamic economic belt along the ancient Silk Road through activities such as “the Silk Road Cooperative Development Forum”, “Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition Hall of the Guest Country of Belarus”, “Special Pavilion of ASEAN Countries, and “World  Gansu  Entrepreneur  Convention”.

The Opening Ceremony of Lanzhou Fair and Forum on Silk Road Cooperative Development was hosted by Mr. Liu Weiping, Deputy Secretary of the Gansu Provincial CPC Committee and Governor of Gansu Province. Mr. Ma Peihua, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr. Wang Sanyun, Secretary of the Gansu Provincial CPC Committee, Mr. Zhang Xiangchen, Vice Minister of MOFCOM, were cordially invited to deliver speeches at the Forum. Vice Premier of Belarus, Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan, Executive Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Mr. Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman of China Centre for International Economic Exchange (CCIEE) and Mr. Long Guoqiang, Vice President of Development Research Centre of the State Council (DRC) also made keynote speeches on further expanding cooperation and exchanges in industrial advantages and economic feature of northwest China, as well as exploring public policies for mutual support between the countries, provinces and cities along the Silk Road. This was to achieve the goal of reaching common understanding, win-win cooperation and promoting development.

At the fair, Mr. Li Rongcan, Standing Member of the Gansu Provincial CPC Committee and Vice Governor, and Mr. Zhang Xiangchen, Vice Minister of MOFCOM, met with Mr. Li Yuan, Director of Trade and Investment (TID) of ACC, and visited ACC booth. Director Li Yuan also exchanged views with Mr. Yang Zhiwu, Director-General of the Department of Commerce, Mr. Li Shumin, Director of the Bureau of Economic Cooperation as well as Mr. Wang Yongqian, Director of Logistics Association, on how to jointly promote trade and investment cooperation between Gansu Province and ASEAN countries.
