ASEAN Media Delegation Visited Private Enterprises in Wuxi

On 22 October 2016,the ASEAN media delegation made site-visits to private enterprises in Wuxi. H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, ACC Secretary-General, and Ms. Zhao Jun, Vice Editor-in-Chief of China Report Magazine, accompanied the said media. Chinese media including China Central TV and Xinhua News Agency also joined the visits.

In HOdo Group, Mr. Chen Jiangang, Vice President of the Group, and Ms. Dai Yue’e, Deputy Director of the Project of the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ), briefed that the HOdo Group set up the SSEZ in 2008, which has now grown into the largest Special Economic Zone in Cambodia. 103 enterprises have been set up in the SSEZ, with a total of 16,000 employees. This project has put spurs to the social-economic development and raised income level in the area. The HOdo Group is now aiming to build the SSEZ into a livable city with 300 enterprises, 100,000 employees, and 200,000 inhabitants. This pilot project will thereby become a paragon in the One Belt One Road construction that enjoys the firm support of the people. Prior to the briefing and interview, the journalists were shown around the workshops and exhibition hall of the HOdo Group.   

In the Phoenix Arts Group, the management cited that the Group, the largest manufacturer oil painting materials in the world, has set up production bases in Viet Nam and Cambodia, hiring 600 and 200 local workers in each country. Its investments in ASEAN has not only given an impetus to social-economic development, provided job opportunities in relevant countries, but also made contributions to ASEAN-China cultural exchanges. The journalists also attended the art classes offered to children at the Phoenix Art Centre affiliated to the Group.
