Jiangsu-Southeast Asia Dialogue for School Principals and Dialogue between Jiangsu Vocational Institutions and Southeast Asian Secondary School Principals Held

On 7-8 November 2016, Jiangsu-Southeast Asia Dialogue for School Principals and Dialogue between Jiangsu Vocational Institutions and Southeast Asian Secondary School Principals were held in Wuxi, Jiangsu province. The event was attended by 50 school principals from 8 ASEAN countries, namely, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, as well as principals from more than 50 secondary schools and 11 vocational institutions of Jiangsu province of China.

During the meeting of Jiangsu-Southeast Asia Dialogue for School Principals, the principals from both sides introduced characteristic projects on international school administration of their respective schools, shared advanced ideas of school administration, and discussed the effective way for talents training under the initiative of the Belt and Road. The Dialogue declared the Jiangsu-Southeast Asian Secondary School Cooperation Initiative, which was jointly signed by over hundred schools from both sides, aiming to strengthen equal dialogue among secondary schools of Jiangsu and ASEAN countries via resources sharing,  information based education, students and teacher training exchanging, as well as enhance exchanges and cooperation in the realms of education research, students mobility, and teachers training. 

Dialogue between Jiangsu Vocational Institutions and Southeast Asian Secondary School Principals aimed to strengthen student pool connection between Jiangsu vocational institutions and secondary schools of ASEAN countries through providing a platform of direct communication for schools from both sides. At the meeting, participating principals of Jiangsu elaborated to the counterparts of ASEAN countries the teaching situation of foreign students in their respective schools, foreign students enrollment, and scholarship application procedure, and answered questions raised by ASEAN secondary principals. Some school principals of both sides signed interschool MoUs on future cooperation in a warm atmosphere.
