ACC Secretary-General Attended the Welcoming Activity for the 2016 ASEAN-China Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Production Capacity

On 6 December 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) hosted a welcoming activity for the 2016 ASEAN-China Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Production Capacity (ACWCCP). H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ACC, Mr. Wang Guofu, Deputy Director-General of Zhejiang Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Mr. Lou Shouwei, Director of Publicity of Dongyang City, relevant government officials, film makers, representatives from cultural industry, experts and scholars from ten ASEAN countries, totaling  around 100 people, attended the activity.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping welcomed the guests to the Workshop and said that China and ASEAN countries are close neighbours that enjoy a long history of friendship and a close affinity of culture. They are blessed with huge potentials for the development of cultural industry. In September, ACC held the 1st ASEAN Film Week in Xi’an, which set up a new platform for the expansion of ASEAN-China exchanges and cooperation in the film sector. The ACWCCP was expected to provide a new opportunity for further exploration of our cooperation. She hoped that the workshop will produce substantive outcomes by pooling wisdom to form consensus that may help promote cooperation in cultural industry.

Mr. Khuong Truyen Phuong, Cultural Official of Viet Nam thanked ACC for hosting the Workshop. He said that the Workshop gave the attendees exposure to Chinese culture and a better knowledge of Dongyang’s achievements in cultural industry such as intangible cultural heritage, traditional handicrafts, and cultural tourism. It might help find common grounds for cooperation between ASEAN and China.

The ASEAN Film Week, to be held from 19 to 23 September 2016, was co-hosted by ACC, Film Bureau of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Shaanxi Provincial Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and Executive Committee of the 3rd Silk Road International Film Festival, and sponsored by ASEAN Finance Agency and other organizations.
