2016 ASEAN-China Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Production Capacity Kicked Off

On 6 December 2016, the Opening Ceremony of the 2016 ASEAN-China Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Production Capacity (ACWCCP) was held in Dongyang City. As an initiative by ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), the Workshop was co-hosted by the Film Bureau of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China and the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.

At the Opening Ceremony, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ACC, after briefing on ACC’s mandates and the cultural activities it had held, said that over the past 25 years since the establishment of ASEAN-China dialogue relations, ASEAN-China cooperation has yielded fruitful outcomes. As a sunrise and green industry, cultural industry is coming into the spotlight in the field of practical cooperation between China and ASEAN. She hoped that the attendees will take this opportunity to give free airings of their views, share information and experience, and align their plans and projects so as to contribute to the enhancement of ASEAN-China cooperation in cultural production capacity.

Mr. Wang Guofu, Deputy Director-General of Zhejiang Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, said that Zhejiang Province boasts rich cultural resources, huge-size cultural industry and abundant cultural productions.

In recent years Zhejiang has seen closer communication and cooperation in diverse forms with the rest of the world in the film industry with satisfactory achievements. He hoped that this Workshop would help strengthen Zhejing’s exchanges with ASEAN countries, and expand the scope and channels of cooperation.

Mr. Dethnakhone Luangmoviha, Official of International Relations Bureau of Cinema Department of Lao PDR thanked ACC and Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television for holding this Workshop. He noted that the Workshop is a cultural dedication to the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-China dialogue relations in the lead-up to the Year of ASEAN-China Tourism Cooperation in 2017 and the 50th anniversary of ASEAN. He hoped that all the ASEAN and Chinese participants would work hand in hand to strive for greater achievements in Cooperation in Cultural Production Capacity.
