On 19 December 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Mr. Hang Yuanxiang, Standing Vice Chairman of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF). Director General Chen Aimin and Deputy Director Song Jian of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of CSCLF, Ms. Huang Ying, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC, and Mr. Sun Jianhua, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC, were also present.
Mr. Hang Yuanxiang thanked ACC for its support to CSCLF. He said that this year the two sides had jointly organized several activities including the Soong Ching Ling Cup China-ASEAN Youth Football Friendship Match and Lancang-Mekong River Basin Women Issue Forum. CSCLF wished to expand cooperation with ASEAN countries in people-to-people exchanges so as to enhance friendship and well-being of the people. CSCLF looked forward to continuing to work with ACC to strengthen communication and coordination in the future, leverage respective advantages, and carry out more activities.
Secretary-General Yang Xiuping thanked the CSCLF for its strong support to ACC, citing that the Foundation is an important partner to ACC. Against the backdrop of the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and the Year of Educational Exchange, the two sides had successfully held a series of activities in youth exchanges and women development, which had engaged active participation from ASEAN countries. At present, ASEAN-China relations has enjoyed a good momentum of development. The year 2017 will see celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN and the Year of ASEAN-China Tourism Cooperation. The Centre will further strengthen cooperation with CSCLF, seize new opportunities of the development of ASEAN-China relations, and jointly promote ASEAN-China practical cooperation and to make new contributions to the benefit of both sides.
