ACC Secretary-General Met with Vice Chairman of Guangxi

On 13 September 2017, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with H.E. Mr. Zhang Xiaoqin, Vice Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and relevant entrepreneurs at ACC Secretariat. 

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping applauded the important contribution made by the Guangxi Government in the development of ASEAN-China relations, and congratulated the successful convening of the 14thCAEXPO. She said that as the Belt and Road Initiative and the ASEAN Community implemented in an in-depth way, ASEAN-China cooperation enjoys unprecedented opportunities. Guangxi, as a frontier of ASEAN-China friendly cooperation, has unique advantages in geography, industries and talents. ACC is ready to cooperate with Guangxi Government in a joint effort to build ASEAN-China community of shared future, and further promote ASEAN-China and Guangxi-ASEAN practical cooperation. 

Vice Chairman Zhang Xiaoqin said that Guangxi is the only province in China that connects ASEAN countries both by land and sea. Guangxi-ASEAN cooperation has a solid foundation, has achieved fruitful results, and enjoys broad prospects. In recent years, Guangxi has worked to build itself into a Great International Channel to ASEAN, a new strategic pillar of the opening-up and development of southwest and central-south China, as well as a gateway for the Belt and Road Initiative. Guangxi will continue to build on the important platform of the CAEXPO, to expand and deepen its cooperation with ASEAN in an all-round manner. He expressed appreciation to ACC for its strong support to strengthen Guangxi-ASEAN exchanges and cooperation, and expected ACC to make new and bigger contribution to ASEAN-China friendly cooperation. 

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping and Vice Chairman Zhang Xiaoqin had in-depth interactions with the entrepreneurs. They encouraged the business community to seize the opportunities to actively join in ASEAN-China economic cooperation as well as to lay an economic foundation to the friendly relations between the two sides.
