Party Secretary of Guiyang Met with ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai(2019-08-29)

On 29 August 2019, H.E. Mr. Zhao Deming, Secretary of Guiyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China met with H.E. Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and representatives of ASEAN countries participating in 2019 ASEAN-China (Guiyang) Belt and Road Culture and Tourism Exchange Week. Both sides broadly exchanged views on deepening cooperation in various fields between ASEAN and Guiyang.

On behalf of Guiyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Municipal People’s Government, Party Secretary Zhao Deming expressed his warm welcome to Secretary-General Chen Dehai and the ASEAN guests and briefed them on the latest socio-economic development of Guiyang. Thanks to the progress made in BRI cooperation, Guiyang is enjoying speedy socio-economic development in recent years. Now, Guiyang has become one of the important hubs and nodal cities along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. Its citizens are living a contented life while experiencing innovation and entrepreneurship here. An increasing number of tourists from home and abroad are also swarming to Guiyang, a promising land with enormous space for international exchanges and cooperation. The traditional friendship between ASEAN and China is deep-rooted, and it is hoped that the success of 2019 ASEAN-China (Guiyang) Belt and Road Culture and Tourism Exchange Week will help deepen ASEAN-China cooperation in various fields including economy, trade, culture and tourism, so that the countries and peoples along the Belt and Road will reap more practical benefits.

On behalf of ACC and the ASEAN guests, Secretary-General Chen Dehai extended his warm congratulations on the opening of 2nd ASEAN-China (Guiyang) Belt and Road Culture and Tourism Exchange Week and the socio-economic achievements of Guiyang. He also briefed on the latest development of ASEAN-China relationship. The partnership between ASEAN and Guiyang boasts huge advantages and potentials, he said. ACC stands ready for closer collaboration with all its partners and will give full play to the role of the Exchange Week for mutual exchanges and learning and win-win cooperation between ASEAN and China.

Mr. Chen Yan, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Guiyang City, Mr. Liu Benli, Secretary-General of Guiyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr. Wang Chun, Deputy Mayor of Guiyang, Madam Wei Dingmei, Deputy Mayor of Guiyang, Ms. Kong Roatlomang, Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC attended the above meeting. Following the meeting, guests from home and abroad visited the International Tourism Expo of ASEAN-China (Guiyang) Belt and Road Culture and Tourism Exchange Week.
