ACC Representatives Attended the 4th Round Table Meeting of the Heads of China-ASEAN Art Colleges & the 2nd General Assembly of ACACA

From 27 to 30 October 2019, The 4th Round Table Meeting of the Heads of China-ASEAN Art Colleges & the 2nd General Assembly of ASEAN-China Arts Colleges Alliance (ACACA) wereheld in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Mr. Sun Ruofeng, Director-General of the Department of Technology and Education, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, Mr. Khamphou Phiasackha, Deputy Director-General of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Lao PDR, Dr. Chantavit Sujatanong, Director of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED),Mr. Jia Yucheng, Counselof the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Cai Changzhuo, Party Secretary of Guangxi Arts University (GXAU), Mr. Sun Wei, Vice Chair of China Education Federation of the Arts, and members of ACACA from around 20 art colleges from ASEAN and China were present at the meetings. Ms. Kong Roatlomang, Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the meetings and delivered remarks.

The Round Table Meeting adopted the theme of “Unity and Common Prosperity” while the General Assembly focused on “How to develop regional culture and art industry for common prosperity”, participants conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges on enhancing communication and deepening cooperation in art education among arts colleges in China and ASEAN Member States. Several culture activities were held on the sidelines, such as the Evening Gala: Glamorous Southeast Asia.

As one of the outcomes of the China-ASEAN Cultural Forum, the Round Table Meeting of the Heads of China-ASEAN Art Colleges has been successfully held for 4 consecutive years since 2016.The ACACA was jointly initiated by ACC, SEAMEO RIHED and GXAU in 2017, the first batch of alliance members of which consisted of 8 comprehensive art colleges in China and 11 art colleges in the ASEAN countries.
