The ACC Supports Smart Library Efforts in ASEAN Countries

On 28 November 2023, the Seminar on Smart Library Construction and Management for ASEAN Countries opened in Beijing, with the support from the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Under Secretary of State Kim Pinum of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia, and other ASEAN guests attended the Seminar. Deputy Director Li Yaying of Education, Culture and Tourism of the ACC was invited to address the opening ceremony. 

As a follow-up program of the 18th China-ASEAN Cultural Forum, the Seminar has invited over 70 participants from 10 ASEAN Member States (AMS) to exchanges ideas and share best practice centering on such topics as the development of public cultural service system in China, development of smart libraries in China and deepening exchanges and cooperation in operating libraries between ASEAN and China, under the theme “Smart Library Construction and Management”. Apart from the training courses, the Seminar participants will also make field visits to university libraries and provincial and municipal libraries in Beijing and Hunan Province.
