The ACC Organizes AMS Officials to Attend 2023 CAECW Opening Ceremony and Parallel Events

On 29 August, the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (2023 CAECW), hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education of China and Guizhou Provincial Government, and co-organized by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), was opened in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ACC attended the 2023 CAECW along with representatives from the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of the ACC and 11 officials from ASEAN Member States Embassies in China. With the theme of “New Vision for Education Cooperation, Common Prosperity for Belt and Road”, the opening activities of 2023 CAECW lasted from 27 August to 2 September.

During the 2023 CAECW, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun attended and addressed the ASEAN-China Education Cooperation Policy Exchange Roundtable, the 2023 ASEAN-China Language and Culture Forum, the ASEAN-China “Chinese+TVET” Education Development Forum and the ASEAN-China TVET Cooperation Forum.

Director Hadi Tjahjono and Deputy Director Li Yaying of ECTD of the ACC attended the Forum on ASEAN-China Cooperation in Public Health, the 2023 ASEAN-China Xishan Forum for Young Academics, and the ASEAN-China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Symposium on Sustainable Development.

AMS officials visited the ASEAN-China and the Belt and Road Nations Education Exhibition. In the opening activities of 2023 CAECW, the representatives had in-depth exchanges and discussions with the participants on ASEAN-China cooperation in higher education, vocational education, language and cultural exchanges, Chinese language education and talent cultivation.
