The ACC Takes Media Friends on a Trip to Indonesia

From 20 to 23 November 2023, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and China Daily co-hosted China-ASEAN International Media Tour 2023 themed “Song of Our Homeland”, organizing journalists and online influencers from ASEAN Member States (AMS) and China on a familiarization trip to Indonesia.

The delegation conducted a deep dive into the signature project of Belt and Road cooperation : the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, as well as the Chinese IT enterprises' overseas brand projects such as Cainiao smart logistics hub in Indonesia, and Vivo Indonesia National Corporation. They also carried reports on personal stories in Indonesia related to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and shared stories about the Chinese enterprises operating in Indonesia propelling local economy, creating employment opportunities and improving livelihoods for the local communities. Their reports attracted tons of followers on the internet and encouraged heated discussions on the benefits brought forth by the Belt and Road cooperation to Indonesia and the region as a whole.  

The delegation also visited such mainstream Indonesian media as ANTARA News Agency to exchange views on enhancing mutual understanding, promoting friendship and deepening cooperation. The delegation shared with Indonesian media partners attractive and up-to-date stories about building a closer China-ASEAN Community with a shared future, and exchanged views with their Indonesian counterparts on how to make China better known to its Southeast Asian neighbors and how to make stories of China cross with Generation Z, including Indonesian Chinese youth communities and overseas Chinese students studying in Indonesia.
