The ACC Co-hosts the 2023 Cross-border E-commerce Conference

On 5 December 2023, the 2023 Cross-border E-commerce Conference, co-hosted by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), China (Guangzhou) Cross-Border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, and China Association of Trade in Services (CATIS), was held in Guangzhou. Mr. Long Yongtu, Consultant of CATIS, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade, and former Chief Negotiator for China’s accession to WTO, Mr. Tang Min, Counselor of the State Council of China, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Commerce, Guangdong Province, and Guangzhou City attended and addressed the Opening Ceremony. Officials from the embassies of Indonesia, Cambodia, and Laos in China, as well as from the Consulate General of the Philippines in Guangzhou introduced the e-commerce development situation and cooperation opportunities in their countries. Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of the Trade and Investment Division of the ACC, participated in the Opening Ceremony and related forums on behalf of the ACC.

Representatives of government departments, economists, and entrepreneurs of cross-border e-commerce platforms from home and abroad had in-depth discussions and exchanges focusing on the “Belt and Road” cross-border e-commerce cooperation, capacity building of digital economy, as well as the difficulties and challenges in the practice of cross-border e-commerce.
