The ACC Attends the GMS Tourism Working Group Meeting

The 53rd Meeting of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Tourism Working Group was held in Lijiang, Yunnan Province from 23 to 25 April 2024, hosted by the Bureau of International Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the Yunnan Provincial Culture and Tourism Department, the Government of Lijiang City, and the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office. The ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) was invited to attend the Meeting together with representatives from the GMS national tourism organizations, ASEAN-Japan Centre,Asian Development Bank, tourism enterprises and media. 

Deputy Director Mrs. Li Yaying of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of the ACC briefed the Meeting on the recent achievements of the ACC in promoting tourism cooperation in the Greater Mekong Sub-region and work plan for the year 2024. She emphasized that the ACC will continue to vigorously promote regional tourism cooperation and accelerate the recovery and development of the regional tourism industry.

Li Yaying also attended the “Mekong Tourism Forum 2024”, and joined the panel discussion themed “Unleashing Potential: Enhancing International Cooperation to Propel Tourism Growth”.
